Dell can't get me transferred to the right people to fix an order; keep getting disconnected, transferred to the wrong spots, etc.

Had a laptop die Friday and need a replacement. No one locally has them. Need a T series with XP Pro (our software doesn't support Vista).

None of the Staples, Office Depot, etc. sites have them with XP, which could get them here tomorrow if they did.

Of the onliners, who is my best bet? I figure Newegg, any other suggestions?

Edit: Forgot to add, 15"+ screen, not the 14.x models 🙁

Why not get one from your favorite office superstore that can get it there tomorrow and downgrade to XP? If it is that vital, seems like a small price to pay.

You're right. If he had a mac, he'd probably be some over-educated art-school tool who would happily wait as long as the mac "geniuses" told him until his computer came back so he could keep playing with imovie and blogging about how his life sucks.

How long will it take them to ship? Dell normally takes a week+ as they bring it over on the boat. I ordered an outlet notebook which is already here, ready to go. That's why I ordered the durn thing rather than get a new one, didn't want to wait.

And I did think about buying one at a box store and then loading XP, but don't have any spare licenses at the moment, though I guess could just buy one.
 
once built, Lenovo ships very quickly. depending on your configuration, the shipping could be same day or in two months.
my X61t was built after three weeks (I got it soon after release), but took 36 hours to get from Shanghai to my door in San Diego via UPS Ground (plane to Ontario, CA, truck to San Diego distribution center overnight, delivered at 9am the next morning)
