EDIT: Title since its not just me.

Or, correct the spelling of your address above and click Go.

Did you intend to go to one of these similar Web addresses?

Where did newegg go! :Q

Awww, you can show us your IP n0cmonkey. We behave in this forum 😛

Btw, it's back up - spend away! 🙂

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Not again!

Any recommendations for Athlon motherboards? I would prefer to stay away from VIA, nVidia, and Abit. (personal preference)

No VIA, no nVidia... that pretty much brings it down to AMD. How about a shiny new Tyan TigerMP...?

The K7S5A is a pretty nice board! I use it for my main rig! 🙂

Nice and fast, with DDR or SD RAM 🙂

Cheaper too, so you can get more boxes for your $ 😉

Confused

I have a K7S5A in my main box too. I like it. I am getting ready to switch my PC133 out and put 256 of PC2100 in it.

I just bought a K7S5A for my server. Does anyone know what the best overclocking bios is? So far it's been running smooth as silk with a 1.2GB T-bird at stock, but it's taking close to 6 hours per wu. I'd like to lower that if at all possible. 🙂

I know what you mean about newegg being down. I had an order on there for about $500 worth of parts to build a machine for my parents. I tried to check out and got nothing. 🙁 Went back a couple hours later and all was fine, though.

If I take apart the athlon 900 on the K7M Id have about 1.5GB of SDRAM lying around, and no extra DDR, so thats definitely looking like a good solution for now. Especially since eccp doesnt seem to care much about bus speed.

The K7S5A supports the Thoroughbreds too, so you should be able to upgrade later. I have one, and it's been a good board with either PC133 or DDR. So far I've run a 1.4 Tbird, a 1700+ and a Duron 1GHz @ 1.33GHz on it, with stock ECS BIOS. Trying to hold out for Clawhammer here... 😛

You might also find the Biostar M7VIG interesting. It uses the KM266 chipset, which is KT266A plus onboard video, and Biostar's model can run SDR memory as well as DDR. Slightly more money, but you get the onboard video (maybe LAN too, if the photo is accurate).

That looks like an interresting option for someone else. I dont do VIA. Plus I have video and lan 😉
