I've eaten exotic foods in far away locales, but I will always come back to some of my basic childhood comfort foods.
EDIT: After reading this, tell the thread what your comfort food is.
PB&J
The bread is fresh, yet strong enough to hold the peanut butter and jelly. Mine is whole wheat.
The peanut butter: crunchy Jiff
The jelly: ah, that's the special part for me. A large variety to choose from. Today, I went with homemade blackberry preserves.
Use a knife to spread the peanut butter and cover all the surface area of one slice of bread. Use a spoon to dollop a healthy portion of jelly on to the other other slice. Slap the two pices together and cut it diagonally.
Mmmmmmmmmm.

Oh, and a tall glass of 2% milk to wash it down.
