Alright well here's the story: Last night I installed RTCW and set everything up. I was running 1024 w/ about half the details on. I have the 23.11 dets and a Leadtek Geforce 2 Pro 2/ 32mb of ram. Stock this card is (200/365) I was running (210/410). Anyway I got the server list and chose a nice server. I then connected and when the map came up the system locked. So I was like...oh dam...and I rebooted. I knocked the CPU speed back down to stock 1ghz before doing anything. I then booted and the system displayed all the post info but didn't show the windows splash screan (XP) and then hung. I tryed several times to boot into safe mode and last known compatable mode...and nothing helped. I then turned off the power from the PSU and left the box sit for 15 min thinking it could be overheated. When I booted up I got to the splash screan but instead of loading the desktop I only got a blank screan with a little tinly colored underscore in the top left corner. I rebooted and the splash screan came up but this time it was really light and I couldn't see the blue bar going across it. Again I booted and couldn't get anything at all...not even the splash screan. I left the system sit for a while and was able to get the splash screan but no further again. So after trying a few more times with similar results today I decided to take the old rage 128 out of my dad's system and swapped it for my geforce2. Anyway the thing booted without a hitch. XP already had the drivers and I set the rez to 1024 and am now typing this thing to you guys. Basically what I'm asking is...Did I kill the video card? I'm guessing it is a possibility. But would it be able to display the bios and such and not be able to have enough power to get into the desktop? Anyway I was looking for a new video card anyway...and this may be a reason for my parrents to help me out a little money wise...lol. but I really would have liked to use the GeForce2 in my dad's system or in my brothers so he could play some games. I mean I did pay $150 for it back in the day...! (That day was less than a freekin year ago). Is this like a clasic sine of a video card dying though? I mean it does seem that way!

I'll get back with more info and see if I can get the GeForce working in my dad's rig.

Any and all oppinions/responces would be helpful...but please don't give me any suggestions for what video card to get. As it will be a 8500 or possibly a GF4 TI4400...but I don't wish to discuss it now.

The Leadtek Winfast or WinFox program (whatever) is causing major probs with new GF4MX cards
(refuse to boot)
Maybe, even tho you have older card, thats your prob too.

Leadtek tech support has been notified of these probs.
Maaybe you should email them

Ok problem fixed. I used the rage 128 and removed all my leadtek utilities. I just left the nVidia factory dets. Then I reinstalled my card and all is well for now. I gotta find a new overclocking program now though b/c the leadtek stuff had that stuff in it and I would still like to oc it a bit.
