I had a bad starter

boy that was a pain to diagnose, especially when I don't know what I'm doing w/ bench testing.

bad solenoid, good motor.

Just happened out of the blue.

Got a cheapo manufactured at advance auto and truck is up like a champ.

OMG that could have taken like 30 min but I don't know if any of you have changed a starter on a silverado 1500 (01' and up) I have a 2002 5.3l V8, that engine bay is freaking cramped, they really pack that in there and it's not easy to make room by taking things out.

Ended up taking from 9:00 this morning to 4:00 including a hour or so at the parts store, a few hours of testing, and a few hours of relaxing/eating maybe 4 hours work?
