I recently reinstalled Win2K, installed Office 2000 and the various service packs. I recently has someone send me a exe file, no big deal, an ASPI updater. MS Office blocks the attachment. No you dont have the option to decide whether you would like to open it. It is a level 1 type attachment and all level 1 attachments are inaccessible!! Anyone figured out how to remove the fix or to disable this behaivor?

Same thing bugs me too.

Luckily, my co. also had the web-based versiopn of Outlook running.

On thing I just thought of though, can they rename the extension, send it to you, and then you change it back to .exe?

Yeah i can change the extension to a non-type one extension and it should work fine but I want it gone. I can understand why they might want to do this in a large company with many managed PCs but this is my personal machine and I'm not an idiot. We'll I'll admit to being dumb enough as to not read the readme for this 'fix'.
