Ok, i gotta type quick before this freezes again. I got ridd of old 235w ps and got new 300w one. No not amd approved. Just got new pc, amd 1.2ghz. Old ps ran windows fine but i had to underclock to 1000mhz so thats why i got new ps. With this new one the cpu runs much hotter, and is freezing constantly, even at less that 1.2ghz, WTF could the problem be?

It dosen't pay to get a cheap power supply, I found this out the hard way,
I now spend the extra to buy only top of the line power supplies.
You won't beleive the difference in oc/ing results when you get a good power supply.
Good luck.

Two things I would try, make sure the heatsink is seated right on the cpu and is approved for 1.2ghz, bad cooling can cause lockups, next a good AMD approved PSU like Antec or Sparkle 300w,or even a Enermax 350w PSU.

In the end buying cheap stuff costs you more because you have to replace them when they fail prematurely.:(

This picture from PC P&C's web site is somewhat misleading because it compares their 450W supply to a competitor's 250-300W supply, probably one made by King Star. The graph on the same page shows a competitor's supply's +12V output drooping over 12% at a load of 20 amps, but the pictured supply is probably rated for only 10-12 amps on that output.
