Ok I have a similar question. I am also looking into buying iPod mini. I have like 4gb of songs already that I bought from allofmp3 and other sources. Will I be able to use them easily with iPod or they have to be bought from iTunes?

From what little I know, it should be fine:
-IIRC the MP3 format isn't very easy to DRM... not that allofmp3 would do that
-iTMS sells stuff in AAC format, but the player also takes MP3 just fine
