ahhhh my pos router sucks

dighn

Lifer
netgear rp 614

emule makes it freeze
bittorrent makes it freeze
freshing cs servers make my internet connection unusable for about 5 minutes

currently downloading enterprise so probably getting hammered with connections and that's making the pos freeze and i have to unplug it to reset it!

hubs dont have this problem do they? (my isp offers 2 ips)

What difference would a hub make? Your router sucks. The brand/model, not routers in general. Try updating your firmware and drivers. If that doesn't work ditch it for a MS/Linksys/DLink router.

(BTW, my experience with Netgear networking equipment has been bad as well)

i meant a hub to replace the router b/c i only have 2 computers hooked up to it. i got this b/c it was as cheap as a hub with rebates

Netgear blows. I wont buy any of there stuff ever again.

I have to say, I use Netgear products all the time and have nothing but good things to say. Certainly, prices are similar and quality control is up from Linksys products (pre-Cisco anyway).

What kinds of problems do you guys have??

BTW - I would stick with a router, IMO.

Same here... the added security is worth it.

I have a wireless netgear router sitting next to me...beautiful 🙂
