what kind of place does she work that is will take "forever" to get another copy?

well the place is slow on it. i called my wife and she asked them for a copy they said it would take at least until the end of next month. sigh.

I got a week ago. but was waiting on my 1098 statement. i had friends over for the bears game and cleaned off my desk. i guess i threw it away =(

sigh a unhappy pregnant wife. sigh if i dont post tommrow call the cops!

can u use the info off her last paycheck....

I don't think you can. though just seen a commercial for HRblock that does that.

hmm all her information is online. maybe they have a copy.

One of the few efficient systems in the Army is the pay system. You get your W-2 on December 30th. I did my taxes on the sixth, which allowed me to get in before the rush of people.

If you have the numbers (last paystub, online, etc..) you can file without attaching a copy of the W2, done it many times. The IRS gets a copy of the W2 so if you get something wrong they will let you know🙂

That's what xerox machines are for, make copies in case you lose something, ie, W2 form.

if i had planned on loseing it i would have made a copy! =)

you couldn't have picked a better time to screw up, especially with the wife. 😀

get ready to spend your portion of the tax refund on flowers, chocolates, lingerie (oh wait this one would be for your benefit)--scratch that, and ear plugs for you.

yeah this was a very bad time.

She is in foul mood with being sick from the pregnancy. but wants to go buy baby furniture.

ohh boy. think i better get the stuff on the spair bed heh.

If it makes you feel better, do a print screen of her last paystub online and attach it to the return. It's just a piece of paper, and the IRS will verify against their copy regardless of what you attach or don't attach to the return. Really doesn't matter if you attach anything or not.

Electronic filing will not require copies.

The info from the last pay stub for 2005and the employers tax ID number should work
UNLESS - you have special deductions/compensation

woot! it was online!

got a copy and did the taxes. not getting back as much as i would like but enough for my wife to almost fill up the baby's room. so looks like i get to sleep in the bed tonight!

Heh, nice save. This year I've gotten organized, entering info into the computer as soon as it arrives in the mail. Now if only my ex-employer would get its $#@% together enough to send me a W2...
