OK, I'll admit it: I'm a lurker.

I don't post much on any of the forums that I visit. When I do, it's either to help someone out or to get help solving a problem of my own; sometimes I'll post a heads up on something I don't feel is right. Other than that, I just lurk.

But, I just can't take this anymore....It's been driving me crazy for so long, I'm gonna start flaming people and get myself banned.

What am I yapping about?

The freaking AMD vs. Intel, Trojan vs. LifeStyles, X vs. Y threads.

I mean, come on!!! How many AMD vs. Intel threads does their have to be?!?!?!

Some start out innocently enough, like, " I've got X amount of $ to spend, should I go either AMD or Intel?" But then, invariably, it just results in a neverending cycle of "AMD blah blah blah" then "No, Intel because blah blah blah".

Some are thinly veiled attempts at asking a question just to get into another pointless debate.

I can't take it anymore!!!!!!

AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, doing a little better now.

Man......................

thawolfman- Yes, in some strange way I do feel better. :) However, if I want to get mad again all I have to do is start jumping into motherboard forums until I find the inevitable "vs." thread, read it, and get mad all over again.

her209- I would have a couple hundred more, but I lost posts the few times the BBS system crashed a few years back and zero'd out everyone's posts. Back then, I went by "Chucky," but before I registered this past time around someone had grabbed that handle (You b*stard! :)) Just kidding! :)

ScrapSilicon- Well, when you think about it, CPU's are about the size of a condom packet. :) And, with the time a lot of us spend in front of the computer instead of spending more time pursuing, ummm, softer interests <cough, cough>, computer geekdom could be seen as a form of birth control...:)

Beast1284- Tyan's hardware is very good from what I've experienced/read. However, their support is inexcusably bad. Warrantying a product and not providing acceptable support is [/i]not[/i] what I expected from them. Numerous unanswered e-mails sent by myself and others. Lesson learned however; next time, it'll be Asus, Epox, or MSI. Leaning toward an Epox nForce2 board, but I'll be waiting on Evan's review and also the first end users feedback.

Let me tell you, that "fight" has gone on for ever and always will be

Very much like "Red is nicer than blue" - "No! Blue is better"

And so on and so forth, just set yer ignoreflag when you see those threads!

Time to pull up all your carpets and spend all day beating the dust out of em with a baseball bat. Get rid of all that nervous energy.

Asha'man- Yeah, I know. They've been going on since I first started visiting AnandTech. It's just that by now, I would have thought we could have a sticky or something for the AMD vs. Intel threads. It's been done so many times that is has got past the point of newbies asking an honest question. Then again, I'd hate for a newb to get screwed on a purchase just because they didn't ask a question out of fear of getting flamed for asking a question. I guess it's just a double edged sword of types.

IGBT- That's what I have a girlfriend for! JUST KIDDING!!:):) (Hope she secretly doesn't read AnandTech! :Q) I think I'll just go out and get drunk and have a good time. That, and the hangover I have the next day, usually takes care of any attitude I start to carry around.

AmigaMan- D*mn it! Not here! ;) Your right on the lurkers part, we do have to stick together! :)

Yield- I was about to say "You have no idea", but I know you do. Man, I can't stand those threads!!!!!

Thanks for the support ya'll! :)

rudder- I know, but it irks me none the less. What's really bad is that many times, it isn't a newbie that is doing the debate, they merely ask the question. Then, inevitably, more experienced members come along and the thread goes to sh*t.

Citrix- :)
