If you haven't heard Darkest Days, or any other songs by Stabbing Westward, you should consider sampling their songs. I still can't believe they haven't received the recognition they have earned. How do all the yutzi little pop bands still survive when bands like this push their true, raw emotions and heart-wrenching pain through their recordings?

their last album sucked. It wasnt emotion, it was someone else telling them to make music that would sell.

the first 3 albums are incredible, especially darkest days... but I do have to agree with iamwiz82 that the last album was a sellout:|

another great band I will miss:(

Yes, Stabbing Westward's old albums are great, I own the first three CDs. I downloaded the new album from Morpheus but deleted it pretty quickly. It just does not sound good, I guess they want to make more money now.

Their newest album had a new producer I think.. and they wanted to take it in a more "mainstream" direction from what I've read. I can't stand their new stuff. Darkest Days was great.. I always interpreted it as telling some sort of story progressively.. some guy hitting his low, then going thru various stages, to the point where he almost ends it all.. then anger.. then bittersweet rememberances with the whole "I miss, god I miss waking up beside you" of the last track.

...maybe I looked into it a little too deep. :)

Yes, the newest album isn't as touching (i'm not quite sure if touching is the right word here) as the older ones. I found that out after deciding to crack open the jewelcases of Wither and Darkest days after a long Stabbing Westward intermission.

edit- mistertastycakes, that's not a bad thing at all :) Gotta love the the story eh?

hey baffled, you have to sample (make sure you buy if you like) the WHOLE album, as MistaTastyCakes said, it's a progressive story.

I'm sure you'll fall in love with it like many already have, its one of my favs in my collection of 200+ CDs

Just an FYI for everyone that SW has a new song called "Bizarre Love Triangle"
You can find it on the Not Another Teen Movie SndTrk, its a cover song thats was originally done by New Order
