i didn't know GSM sims could have that much effect on the phone? did you retain your old number and all? ie, did they clone your old data onto the new sim?

yes I retained my old number.. all I did was ask for a replacement sim card

I know that my old one had problems simply because when I use other sim cards, the phone works so much faster...

so I changed the sim card, now its working great!!

the old sim card was about 3 years old (or more)

they wanted to charge me for the new sim card, but I threatened to switch... :D:D

If you're under contract, they should have charged you. If you weren't under contract, they're still a bunch of pussies for giving you a discount. Christ it's $10. :p
