Okay, recently the company I work for "merged" (read: was taken over by) another company, either the other company's head of MIS had a bug up his a$$ or just is plan authoritarian. But now everyone has to have an official company background for thier computer and they went around hunting down "games and unauthorized software" while making every desktop "standard" (read: default Win95 grey and size)...
...granted I ended up okay, one of the EE's got pissed because they deleted ProE's code software and made all the ProE installs dead. This has apparantly happened a few times. My boss just about shot someone because he couldn't even get into his computer....
...so here I am, wondering what the best way to hide very useful but potentially vulnerable programs from instant deletion? I've already removed odvious shortcuts and removed thier entries from the add/remove programs box.
