You should elaborate a bit more. What EXACTLY happens when you boot ? 'Starts up' is a very vague and doesn't mean much to us. Does it POST ? In case you're not sure, usually the PC makes a single beep when it has succesfully 'POST-ed'. If it gives more then 1 beep, then it's actually telling you, in 'secret' code, that something is wrong. If it doesn't beep at all, then something else, perhaps more serious, or perhaps less serious, is going on. You should list your components, and make sure everything has been hooked up to the PSU as it should be. Try to be as detailed as possible, lots easier to help that way.

Ok lets see I have

This mobo & cpu package
With a EVGA 8600 GTS video card

I power on and get to a screen with PCI device listing and A:\> on it

I don't know if it beeps because I cant find where to hook up the speaker in the mobo manual anywhere

The first time that I powered it on I got a disk boot error but then I made a Windows XP system boot disk and now I get to the above situation.

I never reset the CMOS jumper. COuld that be the problem????

Read the motherboard manual, it will tell you which headers (usually on the bottom of the motherboard, looks like bare pins near the power switch and reset switch connectors) to plug the case speaker into.

Actually, after doing some research I found out that no speaker headers exist on that Mobo. Kind of nice not hearing "Beep" every time that I boot the computer but would've benn a mess if I couldn't get it working and had no way to get the error codes!
