After several months of not being able to afford heat, I was finally able to turn the heater on.

No longer can I see my breath in the apartment.

How did you survive winter without heat?! :Q

I tried not turning on heat for a few days and could not bare the coldness in the apartment.

Without heat, my house drops into the mid-40s. Unfortunate incidents of the burner quitting on me kinda proved that...

My PC and a small space heater afforded me *some* comfort.

We didn't turn the heat once this winter...6 computer, 8 monitors. In fact we had to open the windows quite a bit just to cool down.

Got struck with this sudden cold front, eh? I swear, it was like in the 40's-50's last week and early this week, and then this sh!t...I can't understand it. Last night it was in the teens with the windchill in the negatives.

Sure did. Not more than two weeks ago we were taking the dog to play in the park. Now she refuses to go outside.

By the way, the past few days have been absolutely beautiful out here in San Jose, CA... clear skies, warm weather...
