Ok, you don't make a lot of sense, but let's try to get things figured out. First, what type of internet connection do you have? (dial-up, dsl, cable). Now, I have the same router, and I didn't need to install the software(it's only for the print server).

Can you at least go to your web-browser, and connect to the router, or have you "lost" the routers ip? If you can't get to the System Status, just turn the router off for a minute, and turn it back on, and reboot your computer. Now open a browser and try to open the status menu by going to the ip that you assigned it. It should hopefully be there, and you can then change settings. Worst case scenario, is that you have to connect a serial cable from your computer to the COM port of the router, and "hyperterminal" into it, and reset it to its default.

Can you ping the router with either the old or new ip?

Now, depending on your service, you might have to clone the MAC address of your PC's NIC. That would be in the "toolbox" menu after you login.

Although, the best thing to do is reply with more info before you telnet into your router, or clone a MAC address.
