Are Alienware's any good? Or what about Falcon Northwest? I personally would build, since it's more rewarding, and wouldn't have to pay for junk I don't need.

definately build it.. as long as you think you can do it, its not that hard and its well worth it considering you get exactly what you want and better quality parts most likely

ok heres the computer im building (what i have and what i dont yet have (which i will get for christmas))

what i have:

tower- cooler master cavalier

motherboard- ABIT KV8 Pro

disk drive- rosewill combo 52x DVD rom

hard drive- Seagate Barracuda 160gb

what im gonna get:

GH would be a better forum for posting this. Anyhow, my reccomendations:

CPU: A64 3200+
MB: Any Abit, Asus, DFI, MSI, etc with the NF4.
RAM: 1GB of quality ram like Crucial or Corsair.
VC: 7800GT
Antec makes plenty of nice cases which include a quality PSU. The cheap samsung or whatever it is DVDRW from Newegg is good. Large sata drives can be had cheaply as well, the warranty is important here. (3 years OK, 5 years better)

That will run any game out now very reasonably, most of them at max settings. (shouldn't break the bank either)
