Ahh where to live next year

Hrm...my living situation was set. I was going to live in University Crossings, it would cost each of us about $550/month, pretty nice place. But then today, I stumbled across two more places, The Left Bank and The Courts....UC is pretty much out it seems, the left bank is nicer, and about the same price. The courts though...a little farther from campus, and not quite as nice, but man! $400/month! Ahh....

oh god it sounds so funny complaining about $400/mo.

a typical 1bdr ghetto apt costs up to >$1000/mo in my area.

UC and LB cost about $2200/month.
The Courts, in the ghetto(or closer to it anyway) is $1600.

He's not complaining, he's excited that it's so low.

I say pick the Left Bank. It looks nice 🙂

yu live in philly, deeko?

the left bank is ridiculously tight and upscale. LOTS of rich kids live there.

yea, I go to Drexel.

That's what I've heard about the left bank....mostly Penn kids, whereas UC is more Drexel kids.

ouch! Here you can get a ghetto 4-room apt for about $500 CDN. Even in Toronto I don't think you'd pay more than double that.

It isn't expensive with the prices you listed.

erm...for the price of a 2 bedroom apartment at The Courts I could get a 3 bedroom condo-style apartment back at home, complete with a neighborhood pool, car wash, convienence store, and more.

edit: I don't know where you consider expensive, I just quick looked up two other big cities, you can get a 2 bedroom in Manhatten for $1500 and a 2 bedroom in LA for $1800.

The info screen for University Crossings specifically said it had high speed network drops in each room. Make sure the others have that as well. Sometimes a place will try to be cheap and only make the drop to the living room or master bedroom.

On a side note, probably the best advice I can give you for moving off campus is to keep your meal plan (or at least a partial one). It really sucks sometimes after a rough day to have to go home and cook something.
