As I go to power on my computer, a curious thing happenes, It powers on, but then powers off after 3 seconds, waits a few seconds and repeats. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it?

The exact same thing occurs, whilst cmos cleared, different ram combinations tried and all components reseated. And yes, I know the rig in the sig, but it has turned on every time in the past 6 years that I wanted it to.

Do you have another PSU you can try?

The reason I said  is because it's way too many lines, not because it sucks.

There have been problems with this MoBo and OZC ram when used with early Bios versions < F4. The answer has been different RAM or use a lower voltage Ram to post change DIMM voltage in Bios to 2.1v and then install the OZC ram. It may be easier to RMA what you have and use a compatible module see the DS3 thread in this heading for more info.

Lastest BIOS? There's a known issue with modules that use D9 Micron chips, maybe you're so lucky?

i think theres F8 bios out now. Try updating that. Or if you can get into your BIOS try turning off automatic restarts, and it should error out. Then proceed from there. You should be able to boot up without ram, or CPU to get into your bios to do that.

Well, I have now tried booting out of the case, which did not work, booting only without memory, or cpu, except vga, which did not work. However, I believe The cpu is the culprit. Every time else I booted, it failed to post, but with the cpu properly installed, the 2 second on, 3 second off cycle occurred. I suppose now I can either try to get a replacement, or I can shop for a low grade celeron until things pass.
