okay i accidentally put too much asII on my tbird... when i was wiping it i accidentally put some on the ceramic... it might have hit some of the little transistors but i wiped it off i think.. anyway i just said "shiz i better just try it out".. so i installed my the vantec fan (that was pretty damn easy), put in a spare pc100 ram, my video card and i went at it...

so it posts, 1000mhz...no beeps and it goes to detect the harddrives (i had none plugged in) so i turned off the computer... there was only that 1 beep when theres no error (im pretty sure)

so am i okay?

artic silver isn't very conductive, they were very careful to make it so it wouldn't conduct. They say theonly way it really conducts is on very high pressure.

Very high pressure isn't possible inside your case. The stuff is really non-conductive, you could have left it on and been fine.

okay phewwwwww

hopefully none of my multipliers are messed up id be sad :( but yea i read that its not really conductive but they said to keep it away from traces and transistors 'n' crap

(im just using transistor cuz i dont know what the dang thing is called btw :))

I would still take a few minutes to get it all cleaned up and reapply a very thin layer of compound.
Carefully attach the H.S.

If you got most of it, except for what is probably just a stain then you should be fine.
