Ran the Las Vegas R&R Marathon on the 7th. There definitely won't be a detailed race report on this one, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. :p

I ran with a friend as it was his first full so he wouldn't have to run alone so my time wasn't anywhere near my peak. Still, running a 'mere' marathon after completing my first Ultra a few weeks prior seems tame so I was able to easily run the entire run. My friend did great too and came in under his goal time, though, I'm pretty sure he wanted to kill me for the last few miles. :)

Now to cough out all the second hand smoke and sweat the left over alcohol out of my system. The Monday after the race, we started drinking around 10am and continued until almost 1am Tuesday morning.

Edit - In a drunken boast, I have also upgraded to the new Inaugural 50K at PF Chang's on 17 Jan . . . 7 days after I run the Goofy Race Challenge in Florida. Woot!

Hookers and blow at the mile markers I assume?

No. I did, however, see many drunken people being escorted across the strip by hookers with 'Wut?' looks on their faces.

The course was fine, but usually you get a LOT of live bands at Rock and Roll events, there were probably less than 10 music 'stations' and some were merely a set of powerful speakers with a mix.

How was the weather? What was the time? Let me put it this way - RNR San Antonio has to be hands down the worst. Least you didn't have Mexican mariachi bands on the fvcking course. Oh, and your course probably didn't snake 2 miles through a graveyard. What a piece SA is.

But back to you - sounds li ke you had fun. You lived it up...good job :) GL at PF Changs...a friend is coming in town to run that - it'll be her first :)

Weather was cold, around 30 at the start, bout 40-ish at the finish. My time is irrelevent, I was running it to get a virgin through. ;)

I'll say it though, the bands at R&R Las Vegas 2009 sucked ass. PF Chang's is usually a good event though, with plenty of live entertainment on the course. I'm looking forward to running with Dean Karnazes at the 50K.
