I will be getting a plain P5B board this weekend. I also have a Raptor WD740ADFD ordered. My question is to run it in AHCI mode I will have to install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager? But according to Intel I will need a ICH8R controller hub, the P5B has a Intel ICH8 south bridge. Will the MSM work on this controller? I will be setting up Win XP Pro using the F6 method. This was taken from the instructions on Intel download page,

6. At this point you should be presented with a selection
for one of the following depending on your hardware
version and configuration:

- Intel(R) 82801HR/HH/HO SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICH8R)
- Intel(R) 82801HR/HH/HO SATA AHCI Controller (Desktop ICH8R)
- Intel(R) 631xESB/632xESB SATA RAID Controller (Workstation ESB2)
- Intel(R) 82801GHM SATA RAID Controller (Mobile ICH7RM)
- Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH7M)
- Intel(R) 82801GR/GH SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICH7R/DH)
- Intel(R) 82801GR/GH SATA AHCI Controller (Desktop ICH7R/DH)
- Intel(R) 82801FR SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICH6R)
- Intel(R) 82801FR SATA AHCI Controller (Desktop ICH6R)
- Intel(R) 82801FBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH6M)
7. Highlight the selection that is appropriate for the
hardware in your system and press Enter.

Which one will work? I do not see one for a non RAID controller? I just want the AHCI function to operate on the Raptor.

Thanks

Also I have two other SATA 150 drives that do not support NCQ can these drives be independently set. For example I will be using the Raptor for my primary drive (C, AHCI) and the two other drives for storage ( IDE? Video Editing).
