AHCI driver question

I downloaded the Intel ‘STORE_allOS_9.6.0.1014_PV’ driver prefatory to a SSD install. I intended to put the driver on a USB flash drive so that I could do the install in the early stage of installing Win7. When I looked at the downloaded driver I saw that it was STORE_allOS_9.6.0.1014_PV.exe…what do I do with this? an .exe?

win7 has already ahci driver, you can install new version post-install.
the file you got is for that - post-install.

if you want one for floppy/usb drive, download and file 'STOR_all32_f6flpy_9.6.0.1014_PV.zip' or 'STOR_all64_f6flpy_9.6.0.1014_PV.zip'

here is link for latest intel RST driver http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...=Intel®+Rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel®+RST)
that driver is a little dated. you can run the MS driver but the intel is optimized better IMHO
