Senior Accused Of Shopping Cart Rage
TRUMBULL, Conn. -- An 80-year-old man has been arrested on charges that might be described as shopping cart rage.
Carlos S. Bolta was charged with breach of peace Monday in the parking lot of a Stop & Shop supermarket.
Police said Bolta kept pushing his cart into another shopper's cart because he thought the man had cut in front of him in line at the customer service desk.
The 68-year-old man whose cart was bumped had his grandson in the shopping cart at the time, police said, and Bolta threatened to knock the other man to the floor.
Bolta reportedly said told police "Next time, I'll hit him."
Bolta was released on a written promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Jan. 30.
