Hah,

as a person who's been in tech support, I can confirm that people can do amazing things with...errr, I mean TO their computers!

A co-worker once had to fly 1300 kms to help a customer who had a problem with his servers... only to find that the owner had decided to move the rack to another place and had unplugged the servers, but hadn't plug the servers back...

heheh most of those are funny

the credit card one looks contrived, since one hasn't been activated yet.

That's the best one.

I imagine that's why it's not activated. It was a replacement for the first one that "got lost cause the internet ate it". Dude probably ordered up a second one, just activated it, and tried downloading some pr0n. Once his second card went funky, he called up the PC guy.

I work tech support, and I hate to say...I've seen worse. The stories you hear are true. I didn't believe it either until it became my job.

Lol. And the sad thing is that people who do these things don't even have a clue how stupid they are, probably find themselves rather smart and good at computers.

Had a a GF's son jam ALL of my CD's between the drive bezel & case once, trying to make the computer work. he was only 4 or so, hard to get mad @ him for it, scratched 3/4 of them to the point of being unuseable.

@ least his mom was cute;)

I've actually seen the CD-ROM Problem before, without people having a actuall CD-ROM Drive. I was once asked what was wrong and I said. "I had to replace your CD-ROM Drive..."

I guess ATOT sucked up all thebandwidth.

I am very sorry, but this site has had so much traffic lately, it's exceeding my bandwidth allotment! This can be very expensive!

I asked for contributions, but out of all the traffic (I had over 16,000 hits last night alone) not a dollar was contributed.

Stupid Computer Tricks will return soon.

Best Wishes,

Rod Shelley
