It is my second week of work here, and today they had a "fun @ 4" event (that they apparently have every couple of weeks) where, for free, and on the clock, we got to eat mexican food in hors d'ourve fashion (mini beef burritos, quesadillas, "shots" of shrimp and pico de gallo in a tortilla "glass", tortilla chips w/ queso, salsa, and guacamole, etc.) and drink as many margaritas and palomas as we cared to, then got free 750ml bottles of tequila :)

And I thought being able to SEM analysis at my old job was an awesome perk...

1. yes, the company pays for me to drink at work, and gives me an allowance every year such that when I buy their products I can turn it in as a reimbursable expense up to a certain dollar amount :)

2. I drove. The drinks were MAYBE 3-4oz each, 90% ice, and I had 3

3. They hired me in the past couple of weeks, and yes :)

For me, "new job high" is when you get really high after successfully passing a preemployment drug test...

Nice...have you visited Michigan recently? I don't live there anymore, but it was a while since you had last visited for work.

Then again, if you're getting paid to drink on the job, no wonder you haven't visited ;)

does your company have offices in the Bay Area? Do I need to know anything about computers/IT to work there? ;)

2 jobs ago, my lab had beer and junk food every Friday out on our 6th floor terrace. It was fantastic.

Wow sounds awesome. Not only did you get paid to eat/drink, but you got paid to take liquor home. At my old job, I always felt good knowing that I was being paid to crap...

Funny you should mention that. I had made "plans" with lola and iamwiz to hang out sometime in Aug. or Sep. because I knew work was planning on sending me back to good ol' Detroit Rock City, and would have been able to probably bring my wife and daughter. Once I was in the interview process with my current employer the time to go to Detroit for my employer at the time came up. I told them I couldn't go since they were moving offices and it wouldn't make sense to send me since have a bad back (which I really do). They sent another guy from our office on a Friday, and the Monday after I accepted my new offer.

Hell, drinking one alcoholic beverage at lunch (so long as it is one we make/distribute) is encouraged.

True. I never work at any places that employer provides alcohol and I worked with Fortune 100 companies and medium/small places.

Food and drink yes, alcohol of any kinds no.

So it's been *kind of* established you work for some company that makes alcoholic products.

Brown-Forman? hmmmm? ;)
