Ah, Win95

I'm just entertaining myself by reading "Excel for Win95 for Dummies" (well, okay, I need to brush up on my Excel skills and it's the only book around) and there are some gems in here!

On treating Excel like a distorted word processor:
"Well, I'm here to say that Bill Gates didn't become a billionaire several times over by selling a quirky word processor (all of you Microsoft Word users out there, please hold your tongues!)"

On limitations of your spreadsheet:
"So now you know: It's the amount of computer memory available to Excel that determines the ultimate size of the spreadsheet you can build, not the total number of cells in the worksheets of your workbook. When you run out of memory, you've effectively run out of space..."

You're just looking for an excuse to have a beer! You're in the wrong place!

I confess HotChic, you're right 😱 🙁

<-- Drowns himself in  😀 😛

If works on women - does it make Win95 look better?

<--- is glad to be away from borrowing the neighbor's Win95 equipped computer for the summer while visiting.

Hehe 🙂

It could be worse. The network I work with for a Federal agency still uses Win 95 machines some of which are P 133s. Thank god they are finally moving to XP at the end of the month and my sentence in hell is over.

With the exception that there is a limitation in Excel on the number of rows and columns available.

my group still supports about 14,000 windows 95 workstations, pentium II and celeron 300 Mhz boxes

but this is the last year, come next summer , the last win95 dinosaurs will be retired 🙂

I don't get it. I never had a lick of trouble with Win95.

Excel is an amazing program though. Anyone in the Business field would have to agree that it's quite helpful a lot of the time.
