So we get this email in our inbox today from one of our customers...
Names, groups names, etc have been changed.

Greetings,
I would like to have the Outlook distribution list: Distribution Group converted to a full mailbox with a rule that will foreword incoming messages to all current list members.

The idea behind this is to allow us to have an automated out of office response when needed.

When is a distribution list not a distribution list.

Not sure what your problem is.

Create a regular exchange account. Let one of the people there manage that account. Tell them to setup an exchange rule to forward all emails to the individual accounts.

Then if they want to set an away message, they can do it solely on that one account.

Not saying this is the best approach(or even a good one) but it would work.
