Eleven people in a town in El Salvador have died after trying to get drunk on an antifreeze known as Car Bomb.

Authorities in the town of San Vicente have now banned all types of alcohol in the community.

Fourteen men were taken to hospital after drinking the brand name methyl alcohol, Thunder Clap, commonly known as Car Bomb. Eleven of them died.

San Vicente hospital director Napoleon Vigil said: &quot;They showed up with intense headaches, vomiting and with stomach aches caused by poisoning from ingesting methyl alcohol.&quot;

Some poor people in the country drink methyl alcohol, or methanol, when they can't afford anything else

I'm sorry, but as a recovering alcoholic I can understand and sympathize with the individual who absolutely has to have their alcohol. Alcoholism is a disease, after all. But drinking antifreeze for a buzz is just plain stupid, ignorant, moronic, and INSANE!!!!!

I feel bad for the 11 who died but Guaranteed, I won't lose any sleep over it.:| -kd5-
