Ok here are specs:
PIII 750e (cB0) w/ Golden orb Slot 1)
Abit BE6 II (v1.1)
PC 133 Memory
Geforce GTS 32mb

Now, here's my problem. I am trying to hit at least 900 mhz (120 FSB) with this chip. When I set it to 120 FSB, it POSTS, loads windows 2000, and even can run Prime 95 for at least a half hour (haven't tried longer yet). However it can't run 3d mark 2001 completely and some games aren't 100% stable yet. I have tried everything that I know to do.
1. Raise the vcore to 1.85V
2. Raise the I/O voltage to 3.70
3. Lower the PCI multiplier to 1/4
4. Lower the AGP multiplier to 2/3
5. Lower the memory settings to 3/3/3 (not sure what to set the recovery times to but have tried all combos)

Now, I know the vid card is not holding me back because I had it running at 100 mhz before. The memory is not limiting because it is rated to at least 133 mhz. PCI cards can't be the problem because they are running below 33 mhz at this speed. So basically I have narrow it down to 2 things, I think. The cpu and/or the memory settings. Can anyone help me get to 900+ mhz? Don't you think I can get more out of this chip considering it loads Windows 2000 and can even run Prime 95 for a short bit?

Invest in a serious cooler.

GORB's are cute, but for any serious overclocking they're simply not sufficient. Check this. Yes, it's $45, but consider it an investment.

How's your case ventilation? Are you getting enough cool air in, and exhausting enough cool air out?

I have an Enlight 7237 case with one intake fan and one out-take fan in the rear. Ventilation is not a problem because I had the case open when I was trying this. AS far as better cooling, even at 1.85 V the chip never went past 42C under load. Isn't that cool enough?

i have a gorb with 700->1000. its on the high side (40min 50load) but eh, whatever. its not cooling. i think... just a bad chip. ?

abit temp readings aren't as accurate as some. i had an asus cusl2 running my piii 700 @1000 1.75v cCO w/ a gorb too. i couldn't get it to finish 3dmark2001 either, even though other cpu benmarks worked fine. temps were around 45C. i added a case fan and an enermax ps and reduced the temps to 40-41 under load (i have a very poorly ventilated case). now 3dmark2001 runs fine.

like bacillus said, 750's aren't great oc'ers because the sweet spot probably runs somewhere around 900. this causes either PCI oc'ing or underclocking, neither of which are really good at 120 FSB - definitely do'able, just not recommended.

Any chance you could ditch the 750 cb0 for a 700 or 750 cc0? You'd have a lot better luck with a 700 cc0, & probably a little better with a 750 cc0.

It could very well be the cpu. I had a 700e cB0 that I couldn't get past 840mhz. I now have a 700e cB0 that is clocked at 1000mhz. Same exact setup.

Unfortunately, no. I am desparately in need of cash so purchasing a new cpu is out of the question. Unless you are suggesting you'll trade :D. Oh well, 885 mhz is not too shabby for now.
