AH! I'm getting tested for my license soon!

I just passed my drivers education course yesterday, and I am going to the DMV tommorrow! I was going to go today, but I didn't get out of school in time. I can parallel park good enough, and Im comfortable with driving...even though I'm sure it will be much harder tommorrow since I will be so nervous...but I am worried about the written test. I've never failed a test in my life, and I'm a straight A student, so normally this wouldn't be a consern, but my friends have told me how hard it is. They say there are questions asking specific distances for different things and such...I'll study tonight, and I'm sure Ill be alright, but Im still pretty nervous. Is there any advice anyone might have to help me? What was your experience like when you bgot your license?

You don't need to parallel park in the driving test I don't think.. AT least I never learned to parallel park until I drove myself into downtown Mountain View and forced myself to street park like a whole year later...

tips:
- 2 hands ont he wheel
- drive safely
- drive as if your parents are on board
- just be overly cautious. blatlantly check your blindspots, etc...

C'mon, teh speling waznt that bad! I fixed it, and they were obviously just slips of the fingers. Give me a break...

What was said about the blind spots applies to mirror checking as well, if the test administrator doesn't see you turn your head, you didn't look. Cover the brake as needed, they like that. Also, by mere coincidence, there is always at least one uncontrolled intersection somewhere near the DMV office. Put you belt on before you put the key in. Look to see that the administrator put his/her belt on. Walk around the car before you get in.

Above all, don't let your eyes wonder down the length of the test administrator's body, really, just don't, and don't giggle.

You don't need a learner's permit for where I am from. You just need to be the proper age, and carry a birthcertificate and another form of identification.

I got tested for parallel parking on my driving test, its a requirement in my state.

I wish you luck, really just drive as if you were the driver in Crazy Taxi and you're sure to pass 🙂 Really it's even easier than the written test as long you don;t fly 55 in school zone, and no matter when you drive in school zone, just go friggin 20...

I passed mine with an 80 out of 100. Got docked for not looking over my left shoulder when entering the center median to make a left turn. That was so BS. I mean who the heck is going to be in the center median that I would have to look over my shoulder for.

The assclown who zipped up behind you and cut into the median to make a left turn at the place you were going to turn. Or the asshat who pulled out from the leftside into the median in order to merge into your lane. When you slowed he pulled along side you.

You should already see those coming if you're paying attention to what's around you. I think I was docked just for the sake of her not wanting me to get a perfect score.😉

perhaps parallel parking varies? i had to, but it was such a joke: i got 3 minutes to parallel park in unlimited # of tries (i did it in 3 turns of the wheel, but i've gotten it in 1 before)

the rest of the advice is good: be insanely cautious. if you parallel park, don't forget to check mirrors/blind spot when coming out of park (i lost points on that one 😛)

I passed the written test today!!! I got a 100!! I think I also earned some brownie points because I show the tester a typo, haha. But then I had to go to a dentist apointment, so I have to wait until Tuesday or Thursday next week to go for the road test...

I don't know how it is where you live, but over here, you fail immediately if you speed. And since average traffic speed is over the limit, that's one of the most common causes of failure.
