ah...chair envy...

About a week ago I asked if it was possible to get a new chair for my desk at work because the wheels are broken on it. I really wasn't expecting a yes answer as we've been tight on money lately.

The person who does the ordering did say yes and oredered one. It arrived today. Its the same one I have at home and is really comfy!

Anyway, a few people walk by as i'm putting it together and make some comments about a new chair, just playful comments. This one guy walks by and is like "How the hell did you get a new chair? I asked for a new one and they said no and mine is duct taped together." I wouldn't doubt a few other people thought the same too because their chairs are pretty ragged looking.

Hey, I just asked and they got it...if you want to bitch at someone bitch at the person who ordered it I guess. You don't know until you ask though.

Congrats! I can imgaine how you feel. I have a rather crappy old chair and i am going to bring an office chair from home. Its not the same as having your company buy it, but at least i will be comfortable sitting the whole day now..

Make sure you chain it to your desk, bro. Or who knows where you might find it on a daily basis when you come in to work in the morning. It won't take long before somebody gets it in their head, "Hey, it's not his, it's company property so that entitles me to use it just as much as him. So I'll just take it and leave my crappy old chair in its place." Then you're going to have to go kick some ass.

heh, i can actually roll now, instead of like drag and push my chair around while it makes scraping noises on the floor.

oh thats always nice. mine squeaks so loudly when i sit back in it its embarassing. even wd-40 won't stop the squeak... also all the padding is worn out on the seat.

i had to deal with that at my last job. so far nothing like that has happened here...yet.
