agree/disagree: Will the Internet take jobs overseas?

Manufacturing is done almost entirely in foreign nations. But will modern communications allow US companies to outsource even more work overseas? I'm trying to decide on a career, but the computer industry is in poor shape, and after reading that I'm not sure it will get any better.

Please, a lot of people I know are already crying that the H1-B visa program is killing opportunties for IT professionals in this country, though I suppose overall lower costs in other countries might be even more attracyive than simply importing help at cut throat wages.
