AGP was released in 1997 and they still make PCI video cards

7 years after the introduction of AGP they still make PCI video cards. How long will they make AGP cards now that PCI express is available?

Yep.

My wager is that Dell leapfrogs AGP in the "total integration" segment, since they're Intel-only, and just goes straight to PCIe boards. That's where I like the 915G boards - onboard graphics to make Dell happy, and a single PCIe x16 to make the aftermarket happy.

Not everyone cares about gaming. Dell sells majority to businesses with no need for fast card. Only quiet machines that gets the job done.

Well, if you want to drive more and two monitors PCI Video is needed. If you want to reflash a bad video bios update, PCI is needed. As others said, if you either don't have an AGP slot or you damaged it somehow, you'll need PCI video unless you replace the motherboard. Its always nice to have one around...in fact I bought a PCI Radeon 7000 over the weekend just in case I need one.
