AGP vs PCI express

Ive been holding out for a Nforce 4 board and an SLI setup for a while now but iam begining to have doubts about it. For starters i wont be able to play world of warcraft on a SLI rig because nvidia drivers do not support the game. Also current Nforce 4 mother boards do not match the top notch performance of MSIs best. I am begining to think i should get an MSI Neo 2 mother board and an AGP graphics card. Does this sound like a bad idea to anyone? Is PCI express really all its cracked up to be? Should i wait and try to get a PCI exprees mobo and graphics cards. There is not denying the performance benifits of a SLI rig but what about a single AGP vs a PCI express card? Is there a performance jump that is strong enough to warant the price increacs as well as the troubles of finding a PCI express card? Any and all advise is welcome... thanks for your time.

From what I understand, there are no games out on the market right now, that can utilize the PCI express. Now I can't tell you how far down the road this statement will hold true.

An AG card and a PCI-e card will perform exactly the same The difference is future upgradability. Eventually, AGp cards will stop being produced, so if you need to upgrade, you will have to get PCI-e. You have to decide if you want to upgrade this PC for a few years down the road, or are you just going to replace it after 2 years anyway...

Right now there is no performance difference. But AGP will be phased out eventually. ATi is already starting to go PCI-E only for their flagship highest end cards.

Sorry to steal the topic of this thread, just have a Q that relates and didn't want to start a completely new thread.

Right now I have an X800XT PE AGP with the MSI Neo Platium 2 Board. My Q is, about how long does everyone suppose can I go without upgrading to the Nforce 4/PCI-E without sacrificing much performance.
