AGP vs. PCI Card Upgrade Question

I have an Evga 6800 Ultra 256 MB AGP video card right now on a Asrock Dual SATA 2 motherboard which can take either a AGP card or a PCI card. The CPU is a Athlon 3500+ with 2 MB of memory. Would I get a noticable performance boost by going to a 7900 GS 256 MB PCI card? They go for about $200. Any input would be appreciated.

The 7900gs is about 20-50% faster in modern games, even more so if you overclock it. Sounds like a decent upgrade to me.

Then I'd wait a couple weeks for the prices to settle down and see what that brings you.

In short wait a month your cards still decent.
