I have come to know that different AGP ports have different AGP voltage.. I have also known that some people fried their motherboard or graphic cards when they insert different versions of AGP (8x/4x/2x/1x) card into their motherboard... Any info on these?

I think there is a divider in the agp slot that varies depending on whether the mobo supports 1.0/2.0/3.0 AGP specs. Some motherboards have universal or semiuniversal slots if they support more than one spec. I'm not entirely sure if that's the case all across the board tho, so I'd recommend reading the mobo manual before installing. Also, if the divider is in the wrong place, don't force it in!

An 8x device must be 0.8v
A 4x device can be 1.5v or 0.8v
A 2x or 1x device can be 3.3v or 1.5v.

AGP 1.0 and 2.0 devices use a 1.5v key and signal at 1.5v, while AGP 3.0 devices use the 1.5v key and signal at 0.8v. AGP 3.0 devices must be tolerant of 1.5v signalling though they won't necessarily work. But they will not be destroyed if inserted into an AGP 1.0/2.0 slot.
