I'm going to keep my ASUS K8N AGP Mobo for a bit longer and want to upgrade my ATI 9600 128 AGP card to improve performance and fun factor with Half-Life 2 and other every day tasks. Looking for some suggestions from experienced users (Pros) regarding upgrade. I will not be going PCI-X for another year (the plan) I like ATI.... Any help greatly appreciated.

ASUS K8N w AMD64 3200

pci-e is pci express. Pci-x is pci extended.

i'd say either keep the 9600 and jump to pci-e later, or find a good sale on some card. Just about any card >$75(unless we're talking retail) will be faster than that 9600.
