AGP Versus PCI

I have a 4X APG slot.

If I was to replace my graphics card (geforce2MX400-64MB-AGP4X) I AGP still the way to go? My AGP slot maxes out at 4X. Is there any faster or better cards for PCI versus a 4X agp?
ram = 512mb, P4 1.8

No there are not any faster or better cards for pci. In fact the selection for pci cards is much more limited than the selection for agp cards.

AGP is faster than PCI, period. AGP 4x is fast, so don't worry about not getting a card to run at AGP 8x, as the difference in framerates should be negligible.

(Your P4 is relatively slow, though. If you're looking to buy a $150+ card, it might be limited by your CPU.)

you don't have a choice except agp at this point.
pci express will get rid of the agp slot, but that's not due out til late next year or early 2005.
