Here's my system specs:

PIII-800 on Asus CUV4X
256M RAM
Gainward CARDEXPERT GeForce3 PowerPak !!!
SB-Live Value
ViewSonic G810

I got into the bios, and the AGP is set to 4x, in windows at the driver Information screen it says the AGP BUS is running at 2x.

What can I do to make this 4x, since my Mobo supports it...

Also how much of a performance differnece does this make? Because I am getting incredibly cruddy 3d Mark 2001 scores, ~831... I was getting ~400-500 with V5 5500, but my hunch is my system was again running at 2x agp and not 4x....

Thanks.

Make sure you're running the latest VIA 4n1 service packs. If you're getting that kind of performance I'm guessing that you're probably not running ANY via service packs.

I install the version I think my Motherboard has, and it changed the AGP from 2x now to 1x...

Was I suppose to pick Turbo AGP mode or Normal?

Pick the "Turbo" option when installing the latest Via Drivers. Also, make sure that "Fast Writes" are disabled in your bios. This option can cause very strange performance fluctuations.

Ok, maybe I should try it before I asked..

It's says its running at 4x after I choose Turbo mode.

The question is will this help the poor performance I experience.

Thanks for the help OmegaXero

Ok thanks for that tip too...

I just finished running 3d MArk again and I got 4148 which is a 5 times improvement in score..

Thank you so so so so much, I had never even thought of keeping the Chipset stuff upgraded.

Thanks again.

Have you tried overclocking your GF2MX? Most of them will do 200/200 very easily.
