Hey guys!
Still working on getting my system up and running (nasty Nimda network virus that keeps infecting me over the network somehow, so I need to find a way to stop it). Anyways, I came accross some settings in the BIOS and am having a hard time figuring out how to set them.
First of all, Graphics Window Size is by default set to 64MB. However, since I have 1GB of RDRAM, wouldn't I benefit by setting it to maximum (256MB) instead? If not, how do I know what to set it at, and would setting it to 256MB harm it? I want the best performance possible.
My other question is a bit less common I think. My BIOS has a setting called Video Memory Cache Mode [UC]. If says if you enable something called USWC (uncacheable, speculative write combining) that it can really enhance video card speed and performance, but only on cards that support this feature. I use a VisionTek Xstasy Ti500 GeForce 3 video card - does anyone know if the GeForce 3 supports it? It says the system may not even boot if you enable it and it's wrong, but it sounds like the performance would be great (I did change it temporarily and booted back to the BIOS just to see if I got a picture [would have removed the battery if I didn't and reset the BIOS], but I'd really like to know if this is bad for the video card).
Well, thanks all, and any help is *greatly* appreciated!

I can answer your first question...set the Graphics Window Size to the maximum. It is generally recommended for users who want more 3D performance to set this value to the highest value possible that doesn't exceed half of your machine's physical memory; since you have 4 times that amount in your machine, you won't have a problem. I can't answer your second question because I don't have a GeForce card, and I also don't know if this would be a good option for me with my Radeon. If any of you vid geniuses have an answer to this, let us know!
