Hey there,

This is the prob. I am having some MAJOR probs here with
my graphics. I have just bought an XP 1600, KT3, and PC2100
Micron ram to fix another prob. I finally am able to install
WIN XP PRO . Now though all of my games do not work. I
get any thing from I/O errors to the .EXE of games not initializing.

This is what I have to go on:
1) Tribes 2 - Unhandled Exception error (Couldn't initialize)
2) AVP1 - AVP Fatal error in AVP.exe
3) Counter-strike - I/O error when trying to install.
4) Septerra Core - Panic error trying to initialize sound during play

I don't get it. Everything else runs fine. All burning software
runs great and all.

Could this be an AGP power issue, are the drivers not up to date enough,
or is my card just plain bad ??

I am running XP PRO or XP 64 Bit. What should the voltage of the AGP slot
be set to ??
This is the ASUS V7100 GF2 MX TV out only model

ASUS V7100 Specs

Since this is WIN XP PRO I am unsure about installing any kind of VIA 4-1 drivers or VGART drivers since
I don't know if WIN XP PRO already comes with these......

I am worked to the bone on this issue. I need some SERIOUS HELP

You don`t say what drivers you`re using for the graphics card, you know the XP default ones(for Nvidia cards) don`t support OpenGL,I would install the latest Nvidia 30.82 drivers or Asus drivers, also VIA 4 in 1 drivers wise yes you can install them in WinXP since the ones in XP are older.Btw don`t use XP 64bit drivers, that` for the 64bit version of XP OS,you need the normal XP/2K driver, what PSU do you`ve?

Mem is right, get the latest Detonator Drivers from Nvidia, BUT before you do that, go to via's website and get the latest 4 in 1's ... it does make a differance. Keep us updated!

Hey MEM and lRageATMl,

Ok, Got it get the latest VIA 4-1 drivers for XP. Get the latest Nvidia drivers for WIN XP/2000 GOT IT.
My only question was I thought XP PRO WAS the 64 Bit operating system. I thought the business
version of XP hence XP PRO was the 64 bit version . Please be sure to clear up any
errors in info I may have.

Thanks for posting. I will try these. :)

EDIT: BTW.....do I need the AMD XP Windows patch that I have heard about....I think one of might
have said something about it. Does it work in XP PRO ?? I have tried finding it......does anyone know where it
is ??

Thanks again

XP Pro is 32 bit OS,the XP 64 bit drivers at Nvidia website are for the WinXP 64- bit OS version.

You need the normal Nvidia XP drivers here`s the link for them .Don`t need any patches, just get all the Microsoft updates, the only other thing you might need is the Nvidia refesh fix from here which allows you to run your monitor above the default 60Hz in gaming.

Btw if you want more info on Microsoft XP 64-bit OS go here .
