AGP Problems

Ok, so for those of you who read my previous posts, I had a LOT of problems with my new GF4 4200 128MB. Anyway, I finally kinda figured out the problem - the moment I disabled AGP texturing (used rivatuner) everything started working again. Any ideas? Does anybody know how to fix it? I guess things work for now, but it would be a lot better if I could use my card to its full potential.

I am not 100% sure what is the cause of your problem but I have a few ideas.

First- Lots of motherboards require updated AGP port drivers, try to find some off the MSI website
Second- Make sure your motherboard is 4x AGP compatible and it is set to 4x AGP
Third- Try setting your AGP aperture to 128MB in the BIOS
Fourth- You may have an inadequate power supply, make sure it is atleast 250W (300W minimum recommended)
Fifth- Make sure you are using the lastest drivers (try the lastest 30.82 reference drivers from nvidia.com)
Sixth- If you have AGP Fast Writes Enable in your BIOS, disable it. If you have it disabled, enable it. (If everything works keep it enabled.)
Seventh- Once you have tried a few of those, re-enable AGP texturing.
Eighth- Updating the display and AGP drivers may not be enough, update ALL your drivers. I am not too familiar with MSI motherboards for AMD processors so I can't give you a detailed list of what drivers you need.
