My AGP slot on my A7V8X-X is stuck on 8x (the setting is faded and cant be selected) and i have set my video card (Radeon 9800Pro 128) to 4x
(i got a decent performence boost for doing it so i can only assume my mobo doesint support 8x as well as it says it does)
Anyway im told i could be making my system unstable by having it set like this but i cant seem to change the setting on the mobo and i dont want to go back to 8x i would downgrade my drivers to see if that helps but the bios to see if it would let me change it then as others have done but the old bios made my computer hang if i played newer games with heavy duty gfx.
btw the vid cards actually retail not just the chipset
