AGP/PCI locks

I have the MSI K8T neo2-fir board and i hear that people do not completely trust if the AGP/PCI locks work at all or dont work all the time. Is there a good way to check if my board has a working lock on it?

If i dont have a working lock does that just mean i should not overclock and everything should be just fine?

My revision of the MSI K8T board does NOT have locking AGP/PCI. I'm not sure if there is an updated/hacked bios that can do it, though. I have my A64 3200 running at 220 and everything seems to be fine. Overclocking a little shouldn't hurt anything.
