AGP is only 53Mhz?

bios says its 66, nvidias utility/monitor program says its 53

what gives....surely it wont work at 53? mobo only supports 66 to 75mhz yet when i overclock my cpu an ram by bumping the fsb up abit nvidia detect my agp speed to be 66

its a K8N-E Deluxe sorry

jus realised when the same utility reports CPU voltage at 4.1v it makes u wonder lol......went in the bios and set FSB to 200 manually rather than jus Standard (auto) an that seems to of fixed it, jus been plyin ut for hours ....like silk on 6800gt

Yeah, I know, wtf - my ATI CCC says I have a pentium III, but I'm sure when I saw the chip it said AMD.

-just a software error.

thats what i thought but.....jus been playin UT2004 12x10 max everything and 8xaf......absolutly smooth

well what ever it was its reporting right now....i have set the FSB an MEM speeds manually in the bios, seem jus when things are set to auto it gets muddled

I'm really surprised you go to such great lengths to overclock yet you have no idea how fast your system is because you don't run any benchmarks.

here u go then BFG

A64 3200 @ 2.4ghz @stock
6800GT at 400/1.1

3dmark 2001 = 22542 20,879
3dmark 2003 = 11988 10,660
aquamark = just over 60,000 56,000 odd
doom3 12x10 @ ultra qual 71.2 fps n/a

UT2004 wont bench properly for me with umark, its fubard

here u go then BFG
So what exactly have you gained from overclocking? 2%? 5%? Do you even notice?

u really do make a habbit of tryin to talk down to ppl dont u ?
Not really, I'm just amused at overclocking mentality that's all.

People jump straight in and then demand to know why it doesn't work. What's worse is when they apply all manner of soft mods, overclocks and BIOS flashes and then have the audacity to ask the vendor for support when it doesn't work.

It's a known issue with K8N-E but there's also a popular and easy remedy. Just lock your AGP @ 67 MHz in BIOS.

have never asked a vendor for help for a computer i owned. i have phoned Tiny PC on behalf of my dad, and if u know who tiny pc are then u'll know that phoning their tech support is part of owning the computer

my dad payed £1500 for a p3 650mhz with 128mb sd ram pc100, a 20gb hdd and a tnt 2

in the first week it went through 2 motherboards, 3 hard drives, and a stick of ram, they charge top whack and give something made of "dried rat sh!t"

dunno was jus experimenting, im not one who'll keep an overclock for long for fear of something goin wrong, usually leave everything stock an im happy with it. tho it is nice to get something u havent payed for.

if u dont try it then u'll never know. this rig has to last me a long time, so its nice that i can get a little bit more from it when i need it

plus this wasnt an error from overclocking....everything was stock when it reported 53mhz agp so get it right.

if i set auto (200mhz fsb) i get 53mhz if i manually set 200 (what im doin now) it gives 66.

problem solved
