AGP Geforce 6200 standard?

I guess Leadtek has decided to put out a bridged Geforce 6200. Does anyone know if 6200 standards (non-TC) support PureVideo? I could have sworn that nVIDIA's site listed 6200 standards, but now it only lists 6200 TC. Either way, I think this is a pretty good deal for AGP-based motherboards (it would be even sweeter if this thing supported PureVideo).

Hard to say how good a deal this is, as its about the same price as an ATI 9800SE, and more expensive than a 9600 Pro. I can't find any benchmarks to directly compare the cards...

Edit: I wonder if any pipes can be unlocked on that one...

I think there is a chance to unlock 4 pipes on this card, to make it bascially a 6600. I think its a soft mod. Here an intersting link:

6200 mods

Could indeed be a very good budget card

I guess I was comparing it to an X300/X600 (PCIe) or 9600 (AGP). I forgot there are still 9800SE's around. Also, I noticed this old Anandtech Video article, which states that since the 6200 is based on the 6600, and since the 6600 is supposed to have a working video processor, the 6200 standard should have a working video processor as well. Of course, this was written before nVIDIA launched PureVideo.

I should be receiving my Leadtek 6200 AGP tomorrow. I did find a chinese site that tested a 6200 AGP and managed to unlock the other 4 pipes. You won't be able to read the site but the charts are easy enough to understand. In most cases the modded 6200 performed better then the 5900. You can check the site out here.

Oh, and according to Leadteks website their 6200 AGP does support PureVideo.

Sh*t. I was looking at their global Taiwanese site. Yep, the US site states PureVideo support. Thanks for the info on the soft mod. I'm interested in this part since I'm trying to spec out an inexpensive A64 AGP-based system for someone. The added benefit of PureVideo and the performance have convinced me to recommend it. Anywho, thanks again.

Hmm. Sounds like fun, and a good "value overclock" proposition for gamers on a budget (like me). I wonder how long AGP 6200s will be available, based on the same chipset as the 6600s, because supposedly, that was only a stopgap production measure, in order to get the "6200" series to market more quickly, and the "real" 6200 is the TC model.

Edit: Thanks for the links. *drool* Very tempting... ugh... must... resist... buying... NVidia. If it weren't for my current idealistic stance against NV, I'd probably pick one up, that's about my current budget for a "budget" gaming card. Max I'll run games is my current 17" CRT is 1024x768, so no loss there. Are the odds good or bad for pipe-modding the AGP 6200s?
