I installed a Radeon LE AGP video card (replaced PCI 3DBlaster Savage4) and at first the computer wouldn't boot-up. The computer powered up but no monitor support or boot. Pulled out all the cards and reinstalled the new video card and then all the others one at a time and now I can run everything except for the NIC card. I have tried a different NIC from a another computer and it still won't boot when any NIC card is installed. Thought it might be a power issue, so I borrowed an Enermax 450watt and it didn't help. I've been through the BIOS Setup and checked for anything that seemed as though it might matter but the only thing I adjusted was the PCI to AGP choice. If anyone can suggest anything that might help it would be appreciated. System specs;
Athlon K7 600mhz
Fic SD11
Radeon LE 32mg AGP
SBLive
Promise ATA 100 PCI Controller
Kenwood CD-Rom 72X
Quantum Fireball AS 40g 7,200
Floppy
450 watt p/s
USB mouse
Standard keyboard
Windows 98se

Have you tried a different slot for the NIC? Some motherboards share IRQs/resources between the AGP slot and one of the PCI slots (usually the one nearest to the AGP slot).

If you're not using your serial ports, you could try disabling them in your bios to free the irq's to see if it will boot.

I got myself in trouble like this. I found that I needed to follow the uninstalling procedure for the old card, take the drivers back to basic VGA drivers, then remove the old card, install the new card and then its drivers. This is not an exact procedure to follow, it has been a while since I did this. I am only trying to help you go back and check everything. A video card is a key component. It is tough to see the blank monitor, isn't it. I think it is basically a driver compatibility situation. Hope this helps a bit.
