Currently my box is running on onboard video card and I am planning to run a dual monitor and thats why I am thinking of buying a decent AGP card. I dont game much but if i do get a neat AGP card I might as well game. Heres my config...

P4 1.8ghz, 2gig DDR, 250gig HDD, Intel 845G motherboard ( supports 4x AGP 1.5v )

Currently I have a 19" Samsung 997DF monitor and i am planning to get a 19" flat LCD monitor and thats why i need a second video card. my budget is 200$ - 300$

I have read couple of AGP card post on the forum, so i found out that most current fav is 6800GT and X850 XT.

I dont mind buying one of them whichever comes under 300$ but I also have to remember that my processor speed tops is 1.8ghz. So thinking all the parameters what card you guys thing is better choice ?

Also will I need some extra power supply or cooling ?

Finally to sum it up need a decent AGP card so that I can run smooth dual monitor display.

Grab a refurb x800pro for $179 direct from ATI.com, or look around for a 6800NU. You should be able to find one under $175.

For extremely light 3d gaming, any AGP card by Nvidia or ATI will do. The 6200 and x300 are the slowest of the curent(or last) generation cards. All cards made in the last 4 years or so are just about equal as far as 2d gaming goes.

The $300 price tag on some mid to high end cards only reflects their ability to play doom3/halflife2/fear (new 3d games), so if you don't plan on playing them much, don't spend $300 on a video card.

If you are looking for something fairly good for gaming that you won't have to replace next year when newer 3d games come out, you can do just fine with a $90-$190 card. Here's some suggestions:
Radeon 9700/9800
Radeon X700
Geforce 6600
Geforce 6600gt
Radeon X800
Geforce 6800
